Comments: Paul's name came up a couple of times tonight at a gathering at the Craft in America Study Center in Los Angeles. Toasts were made and smiles exchanged as we talked about his wonderful hot tubs! :)

Comments: "Sometimes it takes a while for news to reach out and on this March, 2011 day I focus my thoughts on our friendship in 1966 and 1967 when I was teaching at DU and you mentored me in my introduction to kiln building and raku. Our last meeting in early early 1967 when I got Val Cushing out to judge the the Denver museum's Own Your Own exhibition and I had a blowout party at our faculty house, prior to my departure to my first post abroad with the UN... The next 25 years I shared what I learned from our work building the kilns in Boulder. Those skills i learned from you were used to replicate the clay and kiln building throughout the world.
Adios amigo Paul. Malcolm

Comments: "I heard of Paul's passing, although I never met him, I read many things about him, and a few years ago while in Palm Desert, I actully handled a few of his pieces..I am a graduate of Kootenay School of Art where Walter Dexter taught ceramics next to Santos Magnoisa...I also had the pleasure of taking a workshop from Hal Reigger in the Colorado River desert area titled Experiment A..I took a Primitive Pottery course in 1971 in Parker Arizona. I really appreciated Paul Soldner's approach to clay, as I have potted and sculpted since 1967..That group influenced me to paint, dance, act do it all!..May God Bless Him!..Peter Daniels.
